A Very Good Meeting

Mark tying for SOFT

This was a simple pattern but small.  Mark was certainly excited about this fly and used the term "big fish" about 50 times.  Keep this one on the back burner for Diamond Lake next spring.  Mark knows how to bring it.  When you see Mark tell him thank you for sharing.

Also on the agenda was a very timely discussion about the future of SOFT and our local fly fishing clubs.  This was a much needed discussion about the aftermath of the pandemic and the upset of our normal activities.  Attendance and participation has been disrupted and we need to bring it back.  Everyone knows and understands that communication is key to our survival.  How to have effective communication is still a struggle for some more than others.  Another topic was that SOFT was concentrated in too few people.  The work and responsibilities need to be spread out to insure our survival if someone gets sick or some other emergency.  Dave has way too many things on his plate.  Say thank you to Dave and volunteer to relieve him of some of his tasks.  John Smith has taken on the responsibility of scheduling our guest fly tyers and is doing a marvelous job.  Say thank you to John.
